Project Management

Our project management approach ensures a smooth transition from initial concept to series production. Our experienced battery specialists work closely with your team to guarantee the project is brought in on time and within budget.

Concept

At the early stages of a project, many customers do not know exactly what they want or what is available; Accutronics can help by explaining the battery technology options available, the features and benefits of integrating features such as electronic systems and options available for terminating and enclosing the battery. It is at this stage that key performance and environmental considerations are discussed and understood.

Quotation

Following the concept discussions, Accutronics provide either an estimated or fixed quotation. This quotation may include design, tooling, qualification and series production pricing as appropriate.

Development

Following commercial considerations, Accutronics start the formal development of the battery, working in collaboration with customer staff as appropriate to ensure all required specifications are adhered to. A battery specification will be produced which details the operation, performance, ratings and mechanical attributes of the battery. Accutronics ask customers to approve this document at various mutually agreed stages to ensure both parties agree on the specification.

Prototype

Accutronics use rapid prototyping techniques to put a working prototype in the hands of the customer as soon as possible. It is normal for Accutronics to provide prototypes at one or two stages during development to allow the customer to test the battery alongside their device. The maturity of these prototypes will be mutually agreed at the start of development.

Qualification

Formal qualification can require anywhere between ten and two hundred batteries to be produced, depending on customer, market and regulatory requirements. Batteries for qualification are manufactured to the final design and testing is managed by Accutronics for it’s customers.

Pre Series

Many customers require a parallel pre-series batch of batteries to use in their device qualification or for seeding the market.

Production

Accutronics manufactures its products in the United Kingdom, on the same site as they are developed and tested. The same team that develop our products are responsible for transferring them to production, ensuring total consistency. Bespoke fixtures and automated test equipment are utilised to ensure the product is manufactured quickly and reliably.
