Electronics Engineer
Position Overview:
You will join a small multi-disciplined engineering team developing both customer specific and standard batteries and chargers for a diverse range of applications. As a Senior Electronics Engineer you will be able to demonstrate proven capability and experience in this high-profile product design and development role. There will be an occasional need to travel both nationally and internationally for customers visits or trade shows.
The Role:
You will work as part of the engineering team to:
- Discuss requirements and solutions with customers
- Produce product specifications
- Design & development using 8 and 16 bit micros
- Analogue circuit design
- Switch-mode power supply design (DC/DC)
- Embedded C software design for MSP430 microcontrollers
- PCB layout
- Design for test & manufacture
- Design for compliance with EMC standards and liaison with test houses
- Design validation
- Technical design documentation
Experience required:
Will have a degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering and 4-5 years experience in a similar or more junior role within a product development environment.
Essential skill/experience:
- Mixed analogue/digital board development
- Low power design
- Switch mode power supply design
- Interfacing with I2C peripherals
- Schematic development and PCB layout (preferably with Altium Designer)
- Embedded C software design for 8/16-bit microcontrollers
- Design for Test in contract manufacturing
- Knowledge of EMC Regulations
- Designing for cost-sensitive applications
- Supplier technical management
- Experience of taking products through the full electronics lifecycle
- Full UK driving licence
